BuildBuilt’s Principles for Designing Homes

It is said that we will spend 90% of our lives indoors (within interiors).

BuildBuilt will have an emphasis on considering the configuration of a home’s interiors to optimise and elevate the inhabitant’s lifestyle.

We do so by moving through these work principles:

EXPLORING FROM WITHIN

BuildBuilt’s houses will be derived from honouring the unique lifestyle of its inhabitants. Before setting out, we build relationships by engaging in deep dialogue with our clients to ensure that the planned spaces are to be purposeful, opportunistic and generous. No matter the footprint of the home - new domains will be explored through BuildBuilt’s research and space prototyping, to ensure that homes will be stripped of the non-essentials first, to ensure the home is fully functional and efficient for multi-generational and multi-purposed use. To recognise uniquely individual spaces- character and personalisation will be sprinkled up-top through the exploration of materials, texture, and custom accessories.

We hope that this presents a delightful mixture of depth and texture, rooted in logical functionality.

PEOPLE AND PROCESS

BuildBuilt’s team is atomised to focus deeply within the specialised scope of architectural advisory, interior design consultancy, project management, construction management, styling, and visual support. Through a bespoke yet economic approach, we have creatively assembled a team that breaks down boundaries, and to shed light on typical project blind-spots.

BuildBuilt will achieve a project experience that is:

  • abundant in information,

  • education and enlightening through design,

  • objective focused (affordability, time sensitive, quality)

  • value adding

  • performance and aesthetically inspired

As thoughtful as the spaces will be, our processes hold creative design workshops that will consider people and their desired environments. Through these sessions, we will reveal visuals in a safe space to prototype and experiment, with technical feedback on ‘buildability’ and other project constraints.

We will stay connected with our clients through constant feedback from the work site during construction, to ensure design details are created on site. We aspire to also respect the new era that the Covid-19 pandemic has showed us, that the home owner should not only have malleable spaces designed, but an integrated and streamlined process that will benefit them through the construction phase, keeping everyone informed, aligned, and safe.

BuildBuilt’s hope is to lean on our design principles, and work philosophies to create the endless possibilities through the marriage of design and build... that we will continue to push the envelope on creative design solutions, and expert build capabilities.
