Wan Kit's Experience

Had the pleasure of having Lucas as the designer and Xiwen as our project manager for the renovation of our new flat.

Overall the entire process was pretty smooth. I thoroughly enjoyed the designing process including where we were allowed to get a feel of the design using VR. I also really liked that they did not just propose cookie cutter designs that most generic IDs we've seen have proposed.

Lucas tailored some interesting and fresh ideas based on our needs which we really liked. Xiwen is also very active in advising on whether certain ideas were possible as well as potential problems to expect. Thank you for tolerating our occasional fickle-mindedness as well!

In terms of budgeting, I liked that they didn't make us feel as if we were less important even though I think we were spending less than other clients. Where our budget limited us, they were very accommodating with our constraints and were never pushy about anything, and also suggested alternatives.

Workmanship in general was good. Any defects that could be rectified were done so properly and quickly.

Timeline was A+. Everything was completed on time even when some things were delayed on our end. There were of course some hiccups along the way..

There were some works done different from our discussions but which were rectified very quickly to the best of their abilities once we raised the issue. There were also some issues with certain carpentry that apparently the contractors had never experienced before, and required us to fork out some additional costs to rectify. Despite this, I have to mention that they did bear most of the cost and were accountable for whatever mistakes they made.

There were also some minor issues with workmanship e.g. (barely visible) paint splatter, towel bars being installed slightly slanted, tiles being chipped. Some of these are still there and occasionally does bug me ,but I have to admit that it is my fault for not highlighting every single issue to them, as I did not want to be seen as too nitpicky and souring our relationship. In their defense also, they did put in effort to rectify every issue that we brought up, even if they were not done perfectly. Furthermore, the flat already had its fair share of issues due to the developers rushing thanks to Covid, and it must've been difficult to work with a canvas like that.

It is easy to get too focused on the negatives and completely ignore the positives, so I just want to reiterate that overall it still was a really good experience. Easily 4.5/5, and I would definitely approach them for any future projects. Highly recommended.

Once again thank you to Xiwen and Lucas for your creativity, vision, hard work, and dedication. Thanks to Jessica as well who helped oversee the project and rectifying issues while Xiwen was temporarily away.
