BuildBuilt is a Design and Build firm that started from a 2-man Design Consultancy team back in 2017 that grew to the current 30-strong team. We are a design-driven, human-centric studio, and we aim to build great homes for the everyday people. Over the years, we’ve yearned for a spacious workshop space to house our Material Library and to host educational talks for guests and teammates alike.

The BuildBuilt Workshop is our latest addition to our existing Headquarters at level 4 of the same building, with an open-concept workshop/library space, 2 enclosed meeting rooms and several work pods for hot desking. The space is a solution for our growing team, as well as to facilitate our long-time process of collaborative design and creation with our clients and stakeholders.

The site’s existing beam anchors was an opportunity to develop the design concept of this project - a central overhead structure that joins and divides the spaces functionally and symmetrically, transforming into a stepped curved feature at the meeting rooms corridor.

We brought in natural light from the external common corridor by rebuilding our façade with glass blocks, which were also used in our L4 office. Following the symmetry concept, we designed a pivot door with a cross-reeded glass panel that would bring in more light.

The workshop area is equipped with full height storage perfect to store away countless of suppliers’ catalogues, with a central display row to showcase the latest materials and colours. Shallow drawers in dark grey laminate house multiple samples of materials for our BBCC workshops open to the public, as well as ready samples for our clients to browse during meetings.
